Home to Duke men's and women's tennis teams, Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center was finished in the winter of 2000. Named after Karl and Alice Sheffield, the facility features six courts, offices for the coaches, a hall of fame room and locker rooms. It was awarded the 2000 United States Tennis Association Outstanding Tennis Facility on February 25, 2001. The Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center is only the third tennis center in North Carolina to receive the award since it began in 1981.
