Contracted by Dr. McAdoo of the Nicholas School to create a deployable soil temperature probe for his teaching in his geophysics course. Soil probe measures soil temp at five different depths below the surface.
Uses thermistors to measure temperature. Arduino Mega as the microcontroller. Real-time clock module. Thermistor readings taken once per minute and recorded to microSD card.
