Manikin Arm for IV Injection Training
Project Summary
This is a manikin arm for nursing students at Duke’s Center for Nursing Discovery to practice IV injection. There are two injection sites, one on the forearm and another on the back of the hand. The main focus of our project was to improve these two injection sites to make the training experience more realistic. This included making skin that felt more like human skin and did not show obvious holes where people had previously injected, making sure the veins were anatomically accurate, and making a “soft frame” material to simulate flesh.
